I was born in Switzerland in 1983 to a Czech mother and a Hungarian father. I graduated in Literature and Philosophy from the University of Bologna, and in 2011 I earned a Master’s degree in Film Directing in Paris.
Growing up between languages and cultures has shaped my fascination with borderland stories — an ongoing search for identity and belonging. Through my work, I explore the urgency of existing in a world that often confines, represses, and judges, delving into the shadowed sides of people and society. The characters in my stories and drawings move along the thin line between the real and the fantastic, between rebellion and the longing for a safe place to land.
After ten years working in cinema, where I refined my sense of visual storytelling, I decided to devote myself fully to writing, comics, and animation.
In 2024, I published the children’s book La scatola del nonno (Grandpa’s Box, Edizioni Svizzere per la gioventù) and received a special mention for my graphic novel project Covando me stessa (Cocooning Myself).
In 2025, I released the fanzine Lisa Gyongy meets Krel – Pollen, commissioned by Pro Helvetia and Réseau BD Suisse, along with my self-published zines Inchiostro (Ink) and The Wall.
